Candle Care Instructions
To get the most out of your candle, follow these tips for a clean, safe, and long-lasting burn.
For All Candles:
1. Trim the wick to ¼ inch (6 mm) before each use to prevent soot and mushrooming.
2. Allow a full melt pool during the first burn (especially on wider candles) — this prevents tunneling.
3. Burn for 2–4 hours max at a time to extend the life of your candle.
4. Place on a heat-safe surface, away from drafts, pets, or anything flammable.
5. Never leave unattended — extinguish before leaving the room or going to sleep.
6. Keep wax free of debris like wick trimmings or matches.
For Dessert Candles (Whipped or Decorated Candles):
1. Trim all visible wicks (including toppings) to ¼ inch before lighting.
2. Burn on a heat-resistant plate or dish to catch any dripping wax from whipped or decorative tops.
3. Burn on a level surface and keep an eye on toppings as they melt — soft wax can shift.
4. Allow a full melt pool on the first burn to help preserve the look and avoid tunneling.
5. Store in a cool place — whipped wax is soft and sensitive to heat or sunlight.
💛 Pro Tip: If the candle ever burns unevenly, gently “hug the wax” (press in the edges once cooled) or use foil to help guide the melt.
